We hope that the coming year brings happiness, growth and joy to your lives.

Styled Photo Shoot: Francis Bacon's "1946" at Machine Shop

When Gretchen Culver of Rocket Science Weddings & Events asked up to be part of a styled photo shoot inspired by Francis Bacon's "1946", we knew it would be nothing but fabulous. After seeing the final product, now featured in Wed Luxe Magazine's Global Trend Report, we were blown away. 

Gretchen Berry Design Company had the pleasure of designing the invitation suite, featuring screen printed acrylic over hand painted wood, assembled with metal bolts. Industrial chic at it's finest. If you've had the chance to visit Machine Shop in Minneapolis, you'll see where we gathered some of our inspiration. If you haven't, we highly recommend checking out this new, in-demand, wedding and event venue located in Northeast Minneapolis.

Star Awards: The Best Use of Marketing/Graphic Design Award Goes To...

April was a busy, and exciting, month at GBDC. We couldn't have been more thrilled to take home the award for Best Marketing/Graphic Design at the recent Star Awards, an annual event celebrating the best in the Minnesota wedding and event industry hosted by the International Special Events Society. Without amazing clients like you, we wouldn't have the opportunity to be recognized for doing what we love. 

This nature inspired wedding invitation suite is the jewel that led to our Star Awards recognition. The white foil printed wood veneer invitation was wrapped in a laser-cut vellum wrap that mimics the mountains surrounding the Jackson Hole area (where the wedding took place), and finished with a custom wax seal. We continued the rustic, nature theme through to the accompanying pieces, rehearsal dinner invitation and all stationery and signage displayed throughout the festive wedding weekend.

Styled Photo Shoot: Loring Social

The inspiration was the two event spaces in Loring Social; Waverly vs. Chelsea. The contrast between the bold black & white design and the bright, modern floral would be a fun concept for a spring wedding or baby shower invitation. There may be nothing more exciting than decorating your little one's nursery. From bedding, rockers, decor, lighting and artwork, it can get pretty overwhelming...and expensive. Wall decor is something I spent a lot of time searching for and this was one of my favorite quotes that I came across when decorating my babe's nursery. 

 Anything to help save a little money while planning a nursery is key. So save whatever you budgeted for artwork, download this month's free printable and put that money towards diapers because you can never have enough. Every time you look at this print, think of all the new and exciting adventures you have to look forward to with your little one.

Oh my. Pretty tablescapes.

Aside from invitations, there are several day-of accessories that can enhance the guest experience at your wedding. Custom menus, place cards, favors and napkins are just a few ways to create a memorable tablescape. Our friends at Rentivist our currently attending the CaterSource national tradeshow in Las Vegas and will be showcasing GBDC stationery in their amazing displays. It's beginning to feel a lot like...Spring?

Typical Minnesota weather this time of year hovers around 20 degrees...making Spring feel like it may never come. Then, every once in a while, we get days (or weeks!) like this one with temperatures nearing 50 degrees. These warmer temps have us thinking about this spring wedding invitation we designed. The birds. The font. The colors. We love it all.
